Festivale

Website Development

The Client

Festivale is one of Tasmania’s most anticipated summer events, filling Launceston’s City Park with food, drink, music and energy each year. With growing audiences and an increasingly diverse program, the website had become a central part of how people engaged with the festival, but it was no longer fully supporting the way the event now operated.

The Brief

The site needed to work just as well for someone casually browsing the program on their phone as it did for a stallholder submitting information or an organiser making last-minute updates. It had to be lively and engaging on the surface, while rock-solid behind the scenes.

The brief:
Improve the front-end user experience.
Empower the Festivale team to manage content independently (schedules, pages, and updates).
Support ticket sales, stallholder applications, and event updates.
Reflect the high standards of the event itself.

Key Outcomes

Website Launch

Our Approach

We designed and developed a new WordPress website that balanced usability with strong visual impact.

AT+M approached the project with a simple mindset: if the website felt hard to manage or hard to use, it wasn’t doing its job.

Festivale is busy, energetic and layered. The website needed to capture that spirit so users immediately felt the character of the event, without overwhelming them. Motion and visual elements were used sparingly to reflect the energy of Festivale, without becoming distracting or interfering with core functionality.

Every decision balanced energy with usability. Information needed to be easy to find. Updates needed to be fast. Key tasks such as updating entertainment schedules and managing stallholder content needed to remain simple and reliable, particularly during peak periods. And the site needed to perform when demand was at its highest.

The Outcome

The new Festivale website delivers a seamless experience for attendees, stallholders, and organisers.

With a modern, responsive design and improved accessibility, users can easily find event information, purchase tickets, and explore programs. Behind the scenes, the Festivale team now has the tools to update and manage content with ease.

Key features:

  • Editable templates for schedules, artist bios, and stallholder listings.
  • A dedicated portal to streamline stallholder registration and management.
  • Integrated ticketing and clear program displays.
  • WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance.
  • Fully responsive design for desktop and mobile.

The result is a robust, future-proof platform that supports Festivale’s continued growth, reflects the prestige of the event, and strengthens its connection with the community.
