Direct:
Commander Centre
It was Targa time in Tassie again. Commander Centre, a major sponsor of the event, approached us to develop a direct mail piece to be sent out to their database plus artwork for their two participating vehicles.

Naturally, we opted for a topical approach here. And, whilst leveraging off the upcoming event, we decided to reinforce something unique and recognisable from Commander Centre’s brand as well. Namely, the coiled wire device of the double ‘M’s in the logo. We placed a red sports car on it turning the letters into Targa’s famous hairpin curves on the Tasman Highway.
For the front cover, we used a die cut and a stylised map of Leg 2 (the Launceston- St.Helens loop) with the teaser message: ‘Better communications are just around the corner’. The recipient would open up to see the brand, what they are sponsoring, and the offer of a new Samsung LCD HDTV.
The 'red car on the curves' concept was then carried across to the vehicles’ dynamic racing livery to continue the brand tie with the Targa theme.
