Design:
University of Tasmania - NEW Gallery
The University of Tasmania opened a gallery space and required a logo to brand it.

It was given the name “NEW” a gallery of art, images, objects and ideas.
As the name was simple and different at+m integrated marketing decided to develop a logo to match.
Our design team explored a variety of contemporary typefaces and applied a “twist” to make it memorable, even considering the development of the name in Braille with the inference that artists should open their eyes to see what they can achieve.
The logo that was selected was the depiction of the word NEW in its simplest, most legible form.
In the initial stages, the logo was used on signage at the entrance to the gallery where it was laser cut from a sheet of stainless steel and backlit for effect.
Ongoing printed marketing materials will feature the logo die cut out of the sheet to provide recall to the signage.
