If there’s one thing that creates ‘activity’ in a car yard, it’s the sense that there’s already some of it going on. Right now!
With this in mind, we threw ourselves into this urgent radio script for one of our clients, Honeycombes – a large automotive and agricultural dealer group in North Queensland. They had already been running a Minimum $2000 Trade-in Sale at their used car yard in Townsville, but wanted to inject a little more urgency.
It was now Thursday, and at+m had a limited amount of time to get it written, produced and on the air before the all-important Saturday trading. As it happened, WIN Television was screening one of everyone’s favourite films, The Castle, that particular weekend. So, as a kind of topical tribute, we were inspired to reference one of its classic scenes – just one of the many that have since slipped into the Aussie consciousness.
We also decided to write the real sales team, Ray and Casey, into the action, too. And, by all reports, there’s been plenty of ‘activity’ and not much ’serenity’ for the boys down at the car yard ever since!
