How much does a prime time 30 second TV commercial cost? Channel Nine has set a new standard, after the success of their new program The Voice reaching over 2 million viewers each night of their opening week.
The price of a 30 second advertisement during the 1 hour program will now be $100,000.
It is not just the success of the broadcasted Television Program but through online streaming. More than 2 million streams were recorded over 3 days, which to put in comparison to a strong TV show is the amount that would be streamed throughout a whole series.
It isn’t really in the same ball park as The Super Bowl, which cost $3.5 million for a 30 second advertisement in 2012. But still, expensive by Australia’s standards.
It will be interesting to see whether this success can be sustained, or will it grow/diminish?
