Inaugural Academy of the Arts Environmental Award Sponsorship

We are proud to announce the winner of the 2007 at+m integrated marketing – Rethink® Environmental Art Award – Edwina Powell. at+m integrated marketing’s Environmental Art Award in collaboration with The Academy Gallery, is designed to promote the collaboration of the academic world and the business sector, and to support and encourage young artists in our community. The generous prize encourages and supports emerging young artists graduating from the University of Tasmania’s – The best of the School of Visual Arts and Performing Arts. This year’s exhibition, titled ‘Summit’ showcased these graduates along with an exhibition from TAFE Tasmania.

Having recently graduated from the University of Tasmania School of Visual and Performing Arts, Edwina has produced a range of stunning pieces based around the interaction of words and space. The powerful graphic nature of her work and the use of the materials (predominantly timber, paper and wood) caught our eye from a range of superb pieces on display at the Academy Gallery – Inveresk rail yards.
